The Long Game

Stay in the Game

A friend of mine was ready to get serious about his health last year. He was tired of feeling sluggish, weak, and stuck. So he decided to start exercising again and clean up his diet.

He was really strong out of the gate. Great workouts, better food choices, good bed time.

But it didn’t take long for his body to start hurting and for his excitement to fade.

He even started questioning if he could actually do it. He missed a few workouts and made some poor choices. He was disappointed because he wasn’t seeing results fast enough.

There was a point that he could have gone either way. He either quits or stays in the game. If there is one thing that separates those who win from those who stay stuck, it’s that they do not quit.

My friend kept showing up, having reminded himself that quitting was not an option.

A few month later he was a new man. His body transformed, his confidence soared, and most importantly, he developed the mental toughness to put in the work, even when he didn’t feel like it.

It’s a great reminder for all of us: the results we want won’t come immediately, but they will come if we refuse to call it quits. It may take weeks or months to raise our game to the next level, but if we stay in the game, we will break through.

Strength Isn’t Built in a Day

If you’re frustrated because you’re not seeing instant results, congratulations—you’re normal.

The reality is, growth in fitness isn’t immediate. You won’t wake up tomorrow with six-pack abs or a perfect squat. But every rep, every push, every workout is moving you forward.

So instead of chasing fast results, chase consistency.

Let’s challenge ourselves this week:

  • Pick one exercise to master. Whether it’s push-ups, squats, deadlifts, or running, commit to getting better at it over time.
  • Track your progress. Write down your reps, weight, or distance and aim to improve by a small amount each week.
  • Celebrate consistency, not perfection. The goal is to keep showing up, not to be perfect.

Our Takeaway: Choose one movement to improve this month and attack it with consistency. Mastery takes time, so start now.

Wealth is a Long Game

You will not become financially free in a week. But every financial decision you make today is laying bricks for your future.

If your finances aren’t where you want them to be, don’t panic. Instead, focus on consistent action over time.

Here’s how to level up this week:

  1. Create a “Next Level” financial goal. What’s one financial move that, if done consistently, would change your life in a year?
  2. Support your goal with a system. Whether it’s automating investments, paying off debt aggressively, or increasing your earning power, build a system that keeps you moving forward.
  3. Stay patient and aggressive. You will not see instant results, but if you push and stay in it, your financial reality will transform.

Our Takeaway: Choose one financial goal to attack for the next 90 days. No distractions. No excuses. Just progress.

Grounded in Faith: Faith is a Journey, Not a Destination

Bible Verse:“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9

Spiritual growth works just like fitness and finances—it takes time, discipline, and commitment.

Some days, you’ll feel deeply connected to God. Other days, you may not. But faith isn’t about feelings, it’s about persistence.

Here’s how to stay in the game spiritually:

  1. Commit to a daily connection. Prayer, scripture, gratitude. Consistency matters.
  2. Lean in when it gets tough. Struggles don’t mean God is absent; they mean He’s shaping you.
  3. Trust that transformation takes time. Your spiritual maturity is built over weeks, months, and years, not overnight.

Our Takeaway: Pick one spiritual habit and commit to it every day for the next 30 days. No skipping. No excuses.

WOD: Take Action!

  1. Physical: Pick one exercise to master and track your progress weekly.
  2. Financial: Set a financial goal and put a system in place to achieve it.
  3. Spiritual: Choose one daily faith habit and stick to it for 30 days.

Will You Choose to Stay in the Game?

If you take one thing from this week: Don’t quit.

The progress you want is coming. It may take weeks or even months to see it, but if you stay in the game, you will break through.

So when it gets hard, when doubt creeps in, when you wonder if it is worth it, push harder. Keep going. And watch what happens when you refuse to back down.

Your next level is waiting. Stay in it.
